Our
Story
First Chapter Academy began with a dream rooted in love—and our daughter, Sophia, was the inspiration behind it all.
As parents, we—Julio Docando and Maria Landeros—wanted more than just a daycare for our child. We wanted a place where she could feel truly seen, safe, and supported. A place where her imagination would be encouraged, her confidence nurtured, and her individuality celebrated. Sophia sparked the vision and gave us the courage to dream bigger—not just for her, but for every child and family in our community.
Since 2018, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring that dream to life. With every plan, decision, and late-night conversation, we kept asking ourselves the same question: “Is this what we would want for our own child?” That question became our compass, guiding the creation of a center rooted in care, purpose, and intentionality.
After years of research, preparation, and passion-filled planning, First Chapter Academy was born. Every detail—from the classroom layout to the curriculum, the colors on the walls to the training of our team—has been designed with love and thoughtfulness. We built this space not just as founders, but as parents who understand how deeply important a child’s early years truly are.
